Position Summary:

The Buyer will maintain materials, services, and general plant supplies as needed, with the objective that they will be available at the time, quantity, quality, and price consistent with the needs of the Company.

Primary Functions:

  • Use MRP purchasing suggestions and other tools to develop weekly purchased materials and service requirements

  • Enter purchase orders in ERP system and distribute to vendors

  • Compile and disseminate quarterly supplier scorecard, soliciting feedback towards continuous improvement

  • Provide Accounts Payable team with supporting documentation for invoice payment in a timely manner

  • Actively source new vendors as necessary to meet company quality and pricing requirements and goals

  • Maintain and update all MRP data associated with SKU’s within scope of responsibility

  • Work with Sales to maintain and update finished goods delivery schedule by expediting purchase orders and communicating delays

  • Work with Quality and Production teams to disposition NCR’s and solicit corrective action from vendors as necessary

  • Actively participate in company’s Continuous Improvement initiatives

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree  in Supply Chain or related discipline or equivalent experience

  • 1-2 years working in a purchasing environment with experience in MRP systems

  • Computer literate. Knowledge of Excel and Word software

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and analytical capabilities
